Has anybody checked out the stihl and Huski clones made by the Chinese company Holtzforma? They have a Stihl 066 knock off for around 350.00 us dollars. They are on the internet. They have some good reviews.

Hi,
I don’t know anything about Holtzforma but generally, history says that it’s not a good idea to buy these chinese clones/copies. Bad quality and zero service places to start with.On Skogsforum we discuss these copies that tends to come to Sweden’s online market places each summer.
You can use Google Translate and browse here for example: https://skogsforum.se/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=6912

No spate parts available, and the vibration is horrific.

I have the husky 372xt clone and it’s a bit rubbish I expect if I remember built it and used just a few genuine parts it could be ok but I can’t be bothered! They do sell spare parts and these can be quite good I have used them to keep older saws running, and their bars and chains are good, but heavy compared with modern husky/stihl but for the price they are great for occasional use saws.

In my opinion you shouldn’t use the copies, especially if you use the saws on a daily basis. Warranty, spare parts and safety issues are things to take into consideration. Original is always better, and if a new one is too expensive – A used original is probably better than a new copy.
