Feel free to write and engage and use the opportunity to chat with loggers and foresters world-wide.
We have some simple forum rules that needs to be followed:
- Be nice and think before you write.
- Use keywords and tags if you need help starting a Q&A topic.
- It’s all about forestry. Topics needs to have a subject within forest, forestry or machinery.
This part of Forestry.com contains user generated content. A community or a board like this is an excellent place for You to grow your personal brand. By starting new topics and answer topics in good manners is a perfect way to grow credibility and therefor also your brand. We have several good examples of this while maintaining our Swedish website skogsforum. Real people gaining trust and becomes friends, creates business contacts and gets job offerings. A place like this is like in real life, just digital.
Friendly manners en masse

Sometimes things goes wrong, we are only humans. When things happens we need to act and therefor topics or replies can be removed or altered. If we are doing this we think you should know that it is done for the best for us all, including the member that had the text moderated. Hopefully you see the positive in this and feel even more positivt to engage on Forestry.com.
(*) With nice we mean; Do not insult people, do not commit to propaganda, do not publish anything that can break any laws, and of course – no trolling!
Categories for You
This is very important for us – the community is user-generated and must be built for the user. One important keystone is to have relevant categories. We’re all ears when coming to add, edit or remove categories, feel free to give us feedback in Information & Support. Engage and get the opportunity to be a part of Your forestry.com.
Let’s be clear, languages can be a challenge in a digital community. It is quite hard mixing languages in a topic, sure, it can work using an online translator, but it is hard to get a “flow” out of it. We hope that English works in a framework (for now) and that people with other native languages can engage in user created groups. Any member can create a user group and invite like-minded to that group and start new topics within that group. These topics are collected in a new category on the board, unique for your group.
This is a perfect way to create a user group with the same native language, e.g “Forestiers Français” or similar.
The visual thing
Images and video is very important today (“A picture is worth a thousands words”). If you can, we encourage you to add images or videos with your text, at least when you start a new topic. Adding one or more images is no problem, there is an function for that when writing. Videos is a little bit more difficult (as you may already know). If you would like to add a video to a topic the best way probably is to upload to YouTube or similar and then link the video in the topic. You can paste a link and it will automatically be embedded.
Do not miss out
We have a strong notification system with reliable mail function where you can subscribe to topics and categories of you likings. It is a good thing to subscribe to your own topics as default. Then you will recieve emails instant when there are activity in the topic. The email sent contains a link that will get you to straight to the topic.
